A Mock and a Cock: a review of Shoreditch Grind

“Shoreditch Grind” at Old Street Station. Is a brunch/coffee place during the day and then turns into a sexy, funky cocktail bar in the evening. I have literally just started a month of no drinking, to raise some monies to kit out a new refuge being built down in Dorset. For those of you that know me, I love a ‘lil’ party, so you can imagine it was like the whole “dangling a carrot in front a Donkey” business… therefore I swallowed a Mocktail while Stacey sipped a cocktail.

First of all, the ambience was great, the lighting was dim and sexy with an illuminous red Cocktails Baby? sign on the wall. The music fitted perfectly with the setting.

The drink, it was delicious, I mean maybe the size was a bit small considering there was no alcohol in there. But it was fruity, a bit sour, which I love. It contained all my fave flavours… Pineapple based with Kiwi, lemon and ginger… #lush

The staff were more than helpful, young, well dressed and definitely fitted with the theme of the bar. I would say this is a more relaxed place, somewhere you would go to for a drink with a friend or for a drink before you hit a night out in Shoreditch… the only negative I have is that it was a little pricey for the size as the mocktail was £4.95, but worth it for the atmosphere, oh! And they even have heated warmers if you fancy sitting outside!
